The Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of Master’s and Doctoral Degree Programs at the Faculty of Computer Science, Sriwijaya University, was conducted as part of efforts to improve the quality of education and develop a curriculum based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). This activity aims to evaluate the learning process, align graduate learning outcomes, and develop and refine the curriculum and course syllabi in accordance with higher education standards and the needs of stakeholders.
The activity was attended by 23 faculty members from the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Computer Science at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Sriwijaya (Unsri). The workshop was held in person in the 6th-floor conference room of the Fasilkom Unsri Training Building in Bukit Besar over ten days: June 9, 10, 11, 15, 17, 18, 29, and 30 June, as well as 1 and 2 July 2026.
The workshop began with discussions on the draft curriculum for the Master’s Program on June 9, 2026, and for the Doctoral Program on June 10, 2026. Subsequently, the drafting team revised and refined the curriculum in several parallel sessions. The event concluded with a presentation and discussion of the results of the Master’s and Doctoral curriculum drafts with the faculty members on July 2, 2026.
The main outcomes of the activity include:
The development of an OBE-based draft curriculum for the Master’s Program in Computer Science.
The development of a draft OBE-based curriculum for the Doctoral Program in Computer Science.
The development of Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO) documents.
The development of a curriculum structure and course map relevant to the latest technological developments and research.
The development of supporting documents such as graduate profiles, course descriptions, credit hour weights, preliminary course outlines, and a matrix linking Graduate Learning Outcomes to courses.
Discussions regarding the development of the OBE framework for the doctoral program indicated that curriculum revisions will be implemented gradually, building upon the existing curriculum, as the program has not yet produced any graduates. The discussion also emphasized the importance of defining OBE objectives, involving experts from leading universities, and refining CPLs and courses effectively and efficiently.
Overall, this monitoring and evaluation activity successfully served as a means of assessing learning outcomes while simultaneously developing an OBE-based curriculum, which is expected to improve the quality of learning, support academic quality assurance, and strengthen the accreditation of the Master’s and Doctoral programs in the Faculty of Computer Science at Sriwijaya University.
